Is bubble tea haram? (Not Halal)?
considering it contains those gelatin like tapioca balls, are those indeed made with gelatin? If yes, what kind of gelatin (pork, beef, fish, etc.) there seems to be some ambiguity on the subject. I have bought hot bubble tea from a shop once and asked them if it contained gelatin (as in no meat) and they said “No” and they said it in a fashion as if they get asked that a lot; so they sounded pretty confident. Note: that this was in New York City. I have wikipedia the subject and it says this “Bubble tea, also called boba tea, is a tea beverage containing gelatinous tapioca pearls.” It also says this “The distinctive characteristic of bubble tea is the presence of chewy translucent balls of pearl gelatin”
Bubble tea has been deemed HARAM by Sharia Law. Bubble’s and Bubble tea are an enjoyment for children and taste yummy, and Sharia law forbids such happiness !i
